VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner wrestling team was likely edged out of state dual competiting with a 47-24 loss to West Fargo Sheyenne Monday night.
But the night included a big career highlight for Koye Grebel.
Koye became the second-winningest wrestler in Hi-Liner history, winning his 196th victory with a 14-0 major decision over Marcus Johnson of West Fargo Sheyenne.
Koye Grebel added to an impressive resume that includes three state finals appearances, winning two titles. His varsity record at VCHS is 196-38, including 161-7 the last four years. He holds Hi-Liner records for wins in a season (48), team points in a season (297), takedowns in a season (146), takedowns in a career (511), and nearfall points in a career (602).
Tucker Johnson and Broden Muske picked up wins by fall at 132 and 220, respectively. Koltyn Grebel and Hunter Undem won decisions at 120 and 138.
The Hi-Liners face West Fargo to finish their regular season Tuesday.
