VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City State University President Dr. Alan LaFave gave a presentation to lawmakers at the state capitol asking for more than $11 million to renovate McCarthy Hall during a House Appropriations Committee hearing.
He said they are monitoring other bills that affect higher education, Valley City and the region.
Meanwhile, LaFave had this update about the ongoing $25 million Capital Campaign fundraiser. So far, more than $6 million dollars have been pledged. He said the university is ready to take the next step and start the design phase of the construction project.
The proposed project includes an addition to the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse as a separate attachment, south of the existing structure.
LaFave said no government funding will be used for this Capital Campaign and donations will come from private donors. Those interested in donating should contact the VCSU Foundation Office.
