JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A pair of incredible games headlined the West Region on Tuesday night at Jerry Meyer Arena.

BOYS BASKETBALL: JAMESTOWN 102, BISMARCK HIGH 96 (2 OT)

Jamestown outlasted Bismarck High in a double overtime game that saw the pendulum swing back and forth all night long. Ryan Larson’s sharp shooting in the first half helped keep the Jays within four at the break. Jamestown had the lead at 74-72 with less than seven seconds in regulation when an Andre Austin layup sent the game to its first overtime.

Jamestown would be the one to come back in the second overtime. Bismarck High led 84-80 with under 20 seconds to go when Jamestown created a turnover in the backcourt to cut the deficit to two. After the Demons went 1-for-2 at the line, Larson hit a three just in front of the volleyball line to send the game to a second overtime, tied at 85.

Dalton Lamp and Noah Meissner put on a show in the second overtime, with Meissner leading the charge with nine points. Jamestown hit six of its final seven free throws to put the game away.

Larson had a game-high 33 points in of the best games of his career. Meissner and Payton Hochhalter combined for 34 points and Lamp had 13. Jamestown, now 7-6 overall and 6-6 in the WDA, hosts Turtle Mountain Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: BISMARCK HIGH 61, JAMESTOWN 59

A 15-0 run at the end of the first half of play helped the Blue Jays take a 34-31 lead at the break. Jamestown led 38-36 until a three with under 14 minutes remaining gave the Demons the lead back. The Jays and Demons played even basketball in the next 13 minutes and Bismarck was clinging to a two-point lead in the final minute.

A lay-in from Haylie Hakanson with 12 seconds left tied the game at 59. Bismarck High’s Peyton Neumiller ended up with the game-winner, connecting on a layup in the final three seconds to get a crucial win for the Demons in the West Region.

Ella Falk and Bre Oettle led the scoring for the Jays with 13 points each. Teagan Bosche finished with 10 points off the bench, and Rylee Joseph had nine. With the loss, Jamestown falls to 8-5 overall and 7-5 in the West Region. The Jays host Turtle Mountain on Saturday at 3:30 PM.
