TOWER CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals were 14 of 14 at the free throw line to help them defeat the Maple River Raiders 56-55 on Monday night in Class B Boys non-region action. Carrington is now 9-5 overall, MR drops to 2-9 overall.

The Cardinals were down 55-54, Hudson Schmitz was fouled with 11 seconds to go in the game, he made both of his free throws to put Carrington up by one. The Raiders would have to go the length of the court, they would get a shot off but it wouldn’t fall. The Cardinals had three players in double figures, Grady Shipman and Schmitz had 16, Jack Erickson added 13. MR was led by Caleb Kocka with 17, including five treys, and Wyatt Sylling added 10.

Next up for Carrington will be Friday night in Carrington against No. 4 Sargent County. KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com will have the game starting about 7pm.
