JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The (RV) University of Jamestown women’s basketball team picked up its fourth consecutive win on Wednesday night at Newman Arena with a 68-48 victory over Mount Marty.

Defense was on full display from the opening tip for the Jimmies as they held Mount Marty to just 14 points in the first half. UJ led 37-14 at the half behind nine first half points from Kia Tower and an overall balanced attack against the Lancers’ defense.

The second group of Jimmies found the floor midway through the third quarter as the Jimmies went up by 32 points early in the second half. Freshmen Lily Meincke, Taya Jeffrey, Ilycia Guerue, and Reagan Johnson all played at least five minutes. In more positive news, Jimmie sophomore Madelyn Schmidt played in her first game of the year, coming back from injury.

Sarah Lenz led the Jimmie scorers with 10 points. Everyone got in on the action on offense as 12 Jimmies recorded at least two points in the win. Tower finished with nine points while Audrey Rodakowski had eight points and five rebounds.
