JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Continuum of Care will be conducting its annual point in time count. This count takes place on an annual basis and is designed to gather numbers and demographics of people in our area experiencing homelessness.
A group of volunteers will be going around town to seek out anyone that is living on the streets or areas not meant for habitation such as cars or sheds etc.
SMI Homeless Case Manager Path Coordinator Mike Weatherly said we will be out late in the evening on January 25th into the early morning hours of January 26th in the Jamestown and Valley City area.
He said on Thursday, January 26th they will be serving a lunch to those experiencing homelessness at St. James Basilica community room.
He said we are also looking for any volunteers that wish to assist with our efforts. If you are or know someone currently experiencing homelessness we would like to meet with you. If you would like to volunteer or have a lead on someone homeless please contact Mike Weatherly at 701-368-0678.
