VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com) The Hi-Liner girls picked up two wins in the league with a big road victory at Fargo North Tuesday night.
Valley City topped the Spartans 54-43 for their second win of the season in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play. As the matchup was the only meeting of the two teams this season, the Hi-Liners earned two wins in the league, and are now 3-10 in EDC play.
The Spartans entered the night 5-5 in the league, and were in sixth place in the league. If the season ended today, the Hi-Liners would play at North in the play-in round of the EDC tournament.
Valley City boys basketball fell to the Spartans at home last night 80-62. North used the two league wins to move into second place in EDC play. Valley City is still searching for their first league win of the season.
Girls play continues at home Thursday, with Fargo Davies paying a visit. Both teams play Devils Lake Friday, with the girls at home and the boys at Devils Lake.
