LEAL, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals were back in action on Monday night for another District 5 contest, after falling to Ellendale just a couple of days earlier. In this game, Carrington led most of the way, after three ties early on in the first quarter. They staved off several comeback attempts by the Bison and win by the final score of 52-42. Carrington is now 2-1 in D5 and 7-5 overall, BCN drops to 0-2 in D5 and 5-6 overall.
Carrington made some big buckets at the charity stripe, going 18/22 in the game, including making 13 out of 16 attempts in the fourth quarter. Also in the fourth quarter, Carrington made six quick points that put them up by double digits after a foul and a technical by BCN. Hudson Schmitz had 15 points, Jack Erickson 13 and Josh Bickett added 11. BCN was led by Jonah Harstad with 17, including three 3-pointers, Oliver Hanson added 11.
Next up for Carrington will be on Friday in Lamoure to take on the Loboes of Lamoure/Litchville/Marion for another District 5 matchup.
