MINOT, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A big night in net for Andrew Walz and a late empty netter from Brooks Roaldson led the Blue Jays to a massive 4-1 victory at Minot High.

Easton Romsdal got Jamestown on the board with his second goal of the year in the first period to push the Jays in front 1-0 at 4:44. Brooks Roaldson and Max Mehus had the assists.

Roaldson grabbed the first of two goals on the night at 13:52 to make it 2-0 Jamestown at the end of the first period. Senior Gavin Gerhardt assisted Roaldson on the shorthanded goal.

Ashton Stockert helped the Jays send it to 3-0 in the second period, assisted by Nate Walz, to help Jamestown take a commanding lead. Minot scored its only goal late in the second period to make it 3-1. Neither side struck in the third until Roaldsons’ empty-netter late, his 12th goal of the year.

Andrew Walz made 38 saves to get the win in between the pipes. Walz withstood 18 shots in the first period and 10 in the second and third periods. Minot was held to just four shorts in the final period.
