VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – On Wednesday, January 18, 2023 the VCPS School Board Recognized four arts programs, Choir, Band, Art, and Speech.
Each group gave a presentation on their upcoming and past events this year. Amelia Meester, Choir Vice President, highlighted the Choir’s upcoming Café Concert, which will take place January 21st-23rd in the HAC. The 21st and 23rd will begin at 7 pm and the 22nd will start at 3 pm.
Band President Tucker Johnson spoke about Solo State Contest where VCHS had 32 soloists competing and the upcoming Band and Choir trip to Orlando, Florida. Speech Captain and 2022 Inform State Champion, Amelia Meester, performed her storytelling and talked about the teams successful start to the season and teammate Casey Kruger’s success in the ND American Legion Oratorical Competitions.
Art was represented by Emmy Jones and Emilee Olson-Gronneberg who talked about the extensive work the VCPS Art Department has been a part of.
Highlights from the Art Department include adding a Community Art class, representing ND through the creation of ornaments for the Christmas Tree lighting in Washington D.C., and preparing for the Governors show.
