JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown High School girls hockey, boys basketball, and gymnastics were all in action on Thursday night.
GIRLS HOCKEY: JAMESTOWN 3, DICKINSON 0
Jamestown snapped a six-game losing skid on Thursday night at Wilson Arena while also recording the first shutout victory of the year. Bernadette Belzer and Peighton Walker had first period goals and Belzer scored in the second as well to get the 3-0 victory. Both Belzer and Walker had two points and Liv Frohlich picked up two points with a pair of assists. The Jays, 4-9 overall and 3-9 in North Dakota, host Bismarck/Legacy on Tuesday night. BOYS BASKETBALL: MINOT 58, JAMESTOWN 47
The Blue Jays trailed #3 Minot 28-19 at the half on the road in the Magic City before the Magi extended its lead to 18 in the first portion of the second half. Minot led by as many as 22 points on Thursday night to secure its 10th win of the year. Payton Hochhalter led all scorers with 19 points, including 15 in the first half. No one else scored in double figures for Jamestown. The Jays are 6-5 overall, 5-5 in the WDA. They host Legacy next Thursday, January 26th.
GYMNASTICS: BLUE JAYS TAKE THIRD AT MANDAN
A team total score of 137.600 helped Jamestown take third at the Mandan Starstruck Meet Thursday night. Dickinson won the meet with a team total score of 147.700 and Century was second with a 139.225. Jamestown hosts Aberdeen Central and Wahpeton next Friday night at 5:00 PM.
