JAMESTOWN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – For the second time this season the Blue Jays and Dickinson went to overtime to settle their West Region hockey game and this time it was the Midgets that came away with the extra point in the standings.
Tuesday night the game ended in a 3-3 tie after overtime and a shoot out was needed to determine the outcome. Dickinson scored twice in the shootout and the Jays once, so the Midgets gained two points on the standings and Jamestown one.
Senior Max Mehus scored his fifth goal of the season with the Goalie pulled with only 26 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
Senior Brooks Roaldson notched his eighth goal of the season and Senior Jarrett Zalumskis scored his first of the season.
Jamestown outshot Dickinson 51-32 with Senior Goalie Carson Dewald kicking out 25 shots in his first start of the season.
The Jays stand at 5-5-2 in the West Region standings and 5-6-2 over all.
Next up for Jamestown is a non-conference trip to Devils Lake on Friday night, January 20th.
The Blue Jays will return home for a Saturday matinee Saturday, January 21st versus Williston at 3:30pm at Wilson Arena with the broadcast on Q101 and newsdakota.com.
