LEAL, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Carrington Cardinals JV team defeated the Barnes County North Bison Varsity team on Monday night 54-11. Carrington is now 3-0 in District 5, BCN drops to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in District 5.

BCN’s Jayden Samek made the first bucket of the game and they led 2-0, but the Cardinals took control after that and cruised to the 43 point victory. The Bison committed 33turnovers and just couldn’t get anything going. This game will count in the District 5 standings for both teams, but will not count as a varsity game for Carrington. The Cardinals scheduled another varsity game to make up for it, they will travel to Bismarck on Friday, January 13th at Bismarck State College and will take on No. 1 Kenmare/Bowbells. Carrington is No. 5 in the latest poll released Monday night.

Next up for No. 5 Carrington will be Thursday in Casselton for a girls and boys double header. They will take on No. 7 Central Cass at 6pm, boys will follow, The game can be heard on KDAK 1600/100.1 and newsdakota.com.
