VALLEY CITY, ND  (submitted by York Grebel and NewsDakota.com)  The Hi-Liner wrestling team had a record-breaking day Saturday, crowning three champions at the prestigious Bismarck Rotary tournament.

Valley City has never before had three wrestlers win Rotary titles in a single year.

Koltyn Grebel claimed the first title at 113 pounds, defeating Charlie Irwin of New Salem-Almont by major decision 13-5.

Koye Grebel exacted revenge from a loss last week at the Rumble on the Red in dominating fashion, scoring a technical fall (16-1) in 5:27 over Bismarck Century’s Kaden DeCoteau in the 138 final.

Broden Muske capped the Hi-Liner championships with a fall over Watertown, SD wrestler Matthew Peters in 4:55.

Valley City placed just 3.5 points outside of the top 10 with only six wrestlers entering the varsity tournament.

In the girls division, Gabby Hannig placed fifth, Deegan Krischenmann sixth, Mylee Christiansen third, and Brooke Bundy eighth for the Hi-Liners.

The Hi-Liners are in action Thursday in a triangular, with a league matchup against Wahpeton-Breckenridge, followed by a non-conference matchup with Lisbon, both at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
