looney-tunes

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com/UJ) – A “fun-size” group of musicians from Fargo will present the music of Looney Tunes on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium on the University of Jamestown campus.

The group is headed by bassist, Doug Neill, who also teaches part-time at UJ. The concert will
feature the “zippy” and “madcap” music of the classic Looney Tunes, most of which was composed by Raymond Scott.

Organizers of the event say this is an up-tempo and fun concert for all ages, commenting that many people heard their first bits of classical music while watching cartoons on Saturday morning, courtesy of “The Bunny of Seville” and his crazy pals.

The concert will feature several tunes by Scott including, “The Looney Tunes Theme” and “The Pink Panther Theme.” It is free and open to the public.
