VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  A Hi-Liner junior notched a milestone win as he, and his older brother earned semifinal berths at the Rumble on the Red wrestling tournament Thursday.

Koltyn Grebel earned his 100th career win with a fall in the second round of the 113-pound weight class.  Grebel picked up his second pin of the tournament over Logan Quade of So Lake Crystal Wellcom in 2:16.  He then advanced to the semifinals with a fall in 36 seconds over Caden Staab of Northfield.

Koltyn Grebel will face Alvin Wasemoen of Albert Lea Area Friday in the semifinals.

Koye Grebel, the elder sibling of the Grebel duo, also advanced to the semifinals in the 138-pound class.  He defeated Carter Gmahl of Mora, MN by technical fall, building a 15-0 lead at 5:27 seconds.  Koye Grebel faces Alex Braun of Woodbury, MN in Friday’s semifinals.

Broden Muske remains alive at 220 pounds.  After wins by fall in the first two rounds, Muske was defeated 8-5 by Caleb Vancura of Jackson County Center in the quarterfinals.  Muske will face Cade Okeson of Minot Bishop Ryan in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

The Rumble on the Red has become a premiere event in midwest high school wrestling, and also functions as a dress rehearsal for the North Dakota state tournament, also held at the Fargodome.
