Elsie Ottilia (Zerb) Hieb died on December 26, 2022 at SMP-Health, Ave Maria Jamestown, ND.

Elsie Hieb was born 9/26/24 to Martin and Ernestina Zerb at the home place.  She attended rural school in Lowery Township, Northwest of Woodworth, ND.

Elsie enjoyed helping people and was never shy of striking up a conversation with anyone nearby.  She would drive to deliver her monthly bills instead of mailing them so that she could visit the offices.  Her prized possession was her big white Cadillac and you knew who was driving by her license plate.  Elsie was a lifetime member of the Medina Legion Auxiliary, Eagles club and Circle Cross Riding Club.

At a young age, she worked in the Woodworth area helping in the homes with cooking, cleaning, etc.  She also waitressed in the Woodworth café where she met and then married Earl Hieb on 11/11/1951. Elsie worked alongside Earl in the fields and cattle.  They moved to Earls farm NE of Medina where they resided.  Elsie had a large garden and raised many chickens, ducks, geese every year.  Earl passed on 6/15/1993.  Fall of 1994, Elsie moved to Jamestown and resided till moving to Ave Maria Village in 2017.

Elsie is survived by her 3 children.  Francine Hieb, GayLeen Hieb, Florida, Gary Hieb (Kathy), Medina.  4 Grandchildren Logan (Jenn) Hoggarth, Haden, Sydney Hoggarth, Jenny Hieb.  Great Grandchild, Bryce Hoggarth

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ozzie Zerb, three sisters, Alvina (Art) Johnson, Esther Hochhalter (Ben), infant sister, Martha.

Services will be held in the spring.
