VALLEY CITY, ND (Submitted by Viper hockey)  Just two weeks after having the Grafton Park River North Stars on the ropes, only to fall 3-4, the Valley City Vipers squirts would get the last laugh as they’d beat the North Starts 3-2 in Grafton on Sunday.

Line-mates Brody Kalbrener, Gray Kasowski and Riggs Kasowski would each notch a goal in the win.  G. Kasowski would draw first blood when he scored an unassisted breakaway goal midway through the first period; the period would end 1-0, Vipers.

The North Stars squared things up early in the second, but Kalbrener would score an unassisted goal minutes later.  The 2-1 lead would be short lived as the North Stars would score 20 seconds later to even it at 2-2.

All square midway through the third, Kalbrener would win the offensive zone power play draw and R. Kasowski would put away the game winner.

As they have all year, the Vipers got strong defensive play from Riley Roelfsema, Gavin Wiebe and Beck Dietrich.  Goalie, Tyler Olsen, continued his excellent year collecting 25 saves in the win.

The Vipers improve to 7-3 on the year and will have a couple weeks off before hosting a double header against Bismarck on January 7.
