In other city news, City Administrator Gwen Crawford gave this update to the city commission on Tuesday, December 20th about Emergency Snow Routes, garbage pickup policy during a winter storm, and the towing of vehicles off city streets during a winter storm event. She encouraged residents who don’t have off street parking to ask a family member, friend or neighbor if you can park your vehicle on their driveway or property during winter storms.

Crawford said with over 27 inches of snow and ice in just a few short days. Weather caused roads to be blocked, tree branches to break, taking power lines to houses down among other things. The winter storm declaration is a necessary step to receive funding if the state declares a winter storm disaster and decides to seek a federal major disaster declaration. Totals of the various costs and invoices from the storm are still being collected.

Thanks,

Gwen Crawford
