VALLEY CITY, ND (Submitted by Farmers Union Insurance) Farmers Union Insurance of Valley City has announced their Hi-Liner Wrestlers of the Week.
The Hi-Liner Boys Wrestler of the Week for week ending Dec 17 is Tyson Hovland
Tyson (pictured below) is a senior at VCHS and wrestles at 170lbs for the Hi-Liners. He is currently ranked #4 in the state at 170lbs.
He is the son of Steve and Rocky Hovland and hes 5 siblings: Kash, Devin, Jayden, Elissa and Mikayla
Tyson had a great 2 days of wrestling at the Grand Forks Sertoma Tournament and had a spectacular finish vs. Cayden Kimber from Bertha-Hewitt, MN.
With 5 seconds remaining in regulation, Tyson managed to stand up and score an escape to get the win.

Hi-Liner Girls Wrestler of the Week for week ending Dec 10 is Deegan Kirshenmann
Deegan (pictured at front) is a Freshman at BCN and wrestles at 125 for the Hi-Liner girls and also has wrestled a handful of duals for the boys varsity.
She is the daughter of Lana and Dustin Kirshenmann and she has one brother, Rekker and one sister, Baynx.
Deegan had a great match in defeating Parker Linedahl, during a varsity dual vs Fargo South at 132 lbs. The match was back and forth and tied 6-6 in the 3rd period when Deegan was able to work a half-nelson for the pin!
