VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)  The trip to Hawaii may not have produced wins as of yet, but the Viking basketball team found a way to beat winter weather and get games in.

Valley City State’s men finished their trip to Hawaii 0-2, dropping an 82-71 decision to Central Methodist University Saturday, and a 81-78 final to Milligan University Sunday.

Hunter Lyman and Daevonte Munson were both in double figures in each game.  Lyman led the Vikings with 14 in the loss Saturday, and finishing second to Munson Sunday, tallying 14 more.  Munson scored 10 off the bench Saturday, and led the Vikings with 16 in a start on Sunday.

The Viking women fell 63-54 to William Carey Sunday, with Ashlyn Diemert scoring 12 to lead the Vikings.  The Viking women finish play in Hawaii today, facing Morningside at 1:00 PM Central.
