JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team used an 18-0 run in the second quarter to pull away from the Blue Hawks and pick up a 76-53 victory heading into the Christmas break.

After a closely contested first quarter of play, the Jimmies used a 32-11 second quarter run to pull away from Dickinson State in the first half of play. Audrey Rodakowski, Hannah DeMars, and Kia Tower all scored in double figures during the first two quarters.

Four players ended in double figures for the Jimmies, including Tower who led all scorers with 20 points. DeMars added in 19 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while Rodakowski added 16 points and was 4-for-4 at the free throw line. Off the bench, Kate Cordes had 12 points, all coming from long range.

The Jimmies finished plus 11 in turnovers and had 23 more points off of turnovers than Dickinson State. UJ shot 43% from the field, 26% from the three-point line, and 83% at the line. The Blue Hawks ended the game shooting 38% from the floor and 26% from deep.

Jamestown, now 10-2 on the season, will wrap up the 2022 calendar year on the road against Valley City State University on December 30th. The Jimmies get back to conference play on January 2nd when they host Morningside.
