Rita Ellen Beaudry was born May 26, 1945, to Rolland and Mary (Harrison) Beaudry.  She grew up in the Bullhead Community in Montana attending Lone Tree country school and graduating from Valier High School.  She was a 12-year member of Lone Tree 4-H.  She remained interested in 4-H after moving to ND, supporting her nephew Brent and niece Bridgette and their children.

Rita graduated from Montana State University with a BS in Home Economics Education. She taught in several Montana schools districts.  With the arrival of her Godson, 42 years ago she moved to Valley City, ND.

Rita worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for over 20 years before retiring.

Rita was a member of the Valley City Eagles Auxiliary where she served in all the chairs and is known for decorating for all events related to the Eagles Auxiliary.

As a member of St Catherine’s parish, she served as Alter Society president.  She has been the November monthly co-chairman since the groups were formed.

Rita will be remembered by many as the first Christmas Card they would receive each year.  She will be prayed for and remembered by her family; brother Ben (Darlene) Beaudry, sister Ina Ann Thomsen, nieces and nephews, Lori, Kim, Tamie, Cindy, Kevin, Cheryl, Brad, Brent, and Bridgette as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nona Hove; brother-in-law, Dr. Rob Thomsen; nieces, Julie Martin and Anisa Thomsen; and nephew, Brian Thomsen.

Rita Beaudry passed away at the age of 77 on December 17, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.  Her memorial service will be Friday, December 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church.  She will be laid to rest in Montana later in the spring.  The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with her obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com.  An online guestbook is available there as well.
