JAMESTOWN, N.D.(NewsDakota.com) – A tradition of a free holiday meal for everyone continues this Sunday in Jamestown.

Victory Lutheran Church, located at 510 9th Avenue SW, is hosting its 19th annual “Community Christmas Dinner” on Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm.

Event coordinator Eunice Sahr said the event began with the Meidinger family serving about 100 people 19 years ago. Sahr says this year they are preparing to serve 1000, and there are over 100 volunteers to help make this event happen.

Sahr said that they will be serving turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, vegetables, and cranberries, along with homemade bars and cookies.

Sahr said that there are 3 ways for people to enjoy the free dinner. There will be limited seating for about 100 at the church. People can drive up to the church to pick up their meals. Home delivery is also available if you call ahead. You are asked to call the church by 3pm on Friday to be assured of home delivery on Sunday.
