JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School boys and girls wrestling teams opened up the 2022 season with eight first-place finishes at the Knights of Columbus Invite in Jamestown.

The preseason favorite out of the West Region put on a show in the first invite of the season as the Blue Jay boys took first place while the girls finished second in the KC Invite.

Six Blue Jay boys wrestlers took first place in the KC Invite. Jack Schauer at 106, Pete Rasmussen at 126, Lucas Schlepuetz at 132, Sam Schlepuetz at 136, Colton Mewes at 170, and Jackson Walters at 180 all earned the top medal to kick off the 2022 season. Hannah Sjostrom and Aleeona Meza picked up first-place finishes for the girls’ team.
