SEWARD, NE. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team led for 38 of 40 minutes on Tuesday evening in Nebraska as the Jimmies beat Concordia 66-49 on the road.
Jamestown took a 5-4 lead and never looked back as the Jimmies led wire-to-wire in the win over Concordia. The victory over the Bulldogs was the first win on the road of Concordia for Jamestown since the 2013 season. UJ held CUNE to 18% shooting from deep and outscored the Bulldogs 18-5 in the second quarter.
Hannah DeMars led Jamestown with 13 points in the first half and finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. Audrey Rodakowski ended the game in double figures with 12 points on six-of-7 shooting, and Kia Tower had 10 points for the Jimmies. Kate Busek put together a nice game as well, hauling in 10 rebounds to go with seven points and five assists.
With the win, the Jimmies improve to 6-1 on the year and 4-0 in the GPAC this season. Jamestown plays in an exhibition on Friday before taking on Hastings at home on December 3rd.
