BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The final day of the State Volleyball tournament was held at the Bismarck Event Center on Saturday, the Rockets beat Garrison on Friday 3-2, so that put them into the consolation championship on Saturday on the Main Arena floor. Our Redeemers beat Dickinson Trinity on Friday in five sets as well to move on to the consolation championship against the Rockets. In both teams second consecutive five setter, New Rockford/Sheyenne had to come from behind in set five after Our Redeemers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. NRS tied the score at 14 all in set five and scored the next two points to secure the win (25-22, 25-19, 20-25, 18-25, 16-14). NRS goes 2-1 at the State B and they end their season as the consolation champions with a overall record of 28-12. Our Redeemers Christian School Knights end their season in sixth place and an 28-13 overall record.
Junior Kelsie Belquist led the Rockets with 26 kills and three aces, she had a total of 64 kills and seven aces in the tourney. The Rockets would once again have double digit aces, with 14 in the consolation championship, 35 total for the tourney. The Knights were led by Leah Linquist with 17 kills.
