Six players from the University of Jamestown football team were named to the GPAC’s all-conference teams as the conference office announced its postseason honors Tuesday.

Izaak Myles (SR/Apple Valley, Calif.) (punter) and Paul Vandal (JR/Jamestown, N.D.) (defensive lineman) were named to the first team. Myles led the NAIA this season in average yards per punt (43.9) and punts inside the 20-yard line (25). His 43.9 yard average is a new single-season UJ record, and his 40.1 yards per punt career average is also a UJ record.

Vandal led the NAIA in sacks with 12 and sack yards with 83. He recorded at least one-half of a sack in nine of the 11 games he played, including a three-sack performance at Midland (Neb.) on September 24.

Javon Bowie-Monteiro (SR/Sacramento, Calif.) (wide receiver) was named to the second team. Bowie-Monteiro caught 34 passes for 422 yards with eight touchdowns this season. He had three touchdowns against Doane (Neb.) on October 1 to tie a Jimmie single-game record and had two scoring grabs in games against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) and Hastings (Neb.)

Honorable mention selections went to Cade Torgerson (SR/Billings, Mont.) (quarterback), Jed Rantz (SO/Arroyo Grande, Calif.) (linebacker), and Kole Mack (SO/Williston, N.D.) (offensive lineman). Torgerson wrapped up his career as UJ’s all-time leader in passing yards (7,226), completions (659), attempts (1,249) and second in touchdown passes (53). In 2022, Torgerson completed 245 of 438 passes with 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Rantz led the Jimmie defense with 62 tackles and two forced fumbles, while also tying for the team lead in fumble recoveries (2) and interceptions (2). He was second on the team with three sacks and totaled seven tackles for loss.

Mack was a mainstay of UJ’s offensive line during his career and helped the Jimmies double their total rushing yards from a year ago.
