Led by Haley Dyer (SR/Honolulu, Hawaii)’s Defender of the Year award, eight University of Jamestown women’s soccer players were recognized by the GPAC as the all-conference teams were announced Monday.
Nick Becker was also voted as GPAC Coach of the Year.
Dyer has appeared in all 21 of the Jimmies’ matches so far this season, leading the UJ backline that has conceded just 17 goals.
Gaby Sarkis (SO/Campbelltown, Sydney, Australia) and Kamryn Fiscus (SR/Yakima, Wash.) joined Dyer as first-team selections. Sarkis currently leads the team with 11 goals and eight assists while starting all 21 matches. Fiscus has four goals and seven assists and is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with two.
Second-team honors went to Cassandra Diaz (SR/Montebello, Calif.), Karlie Hintze (SR/Herald, Calif.), and Tea Pence (FR/Hamilton, Ohio). Diaz is tied for second with seven goals, including two-game winners, and added an assist for 15 points. Hintze scored three goals from her defender position and made 20 appearances with 19 starts. Pence started all 18 games she played in, allowing just 11 goals and posting a save percentage of .849.
Ryley Bedard (SR/Long Beach, Calif.) and Eve Hoppe (JR/Temecula, Calif.) were honorable mention selections. Bedard has three goals and five assists for 11 points while Hoppe scored once as both players were vital parts of the Jamestown midfield.
The Jimmies (14-5-2) won the GPAC regular season title with a mark of 11-0-1 and will face Aquinas (Mich.) in the NAIA Opening Round at Columbia (Mo.) on Thursday.
