BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There have been hundreds of crashes on North Dakota roadways.

Some of these are fatal, leaving family and loved ones in mourning.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has joined in a national effort to remember those who have lost their lives on North Dakota’s roads.

Lauren Wahlman, Safety Public Information Program Manager for the NDDOT, says on Friday, Nov. 18 at the state capitol, they will invite families of loved ones lost to join them in remembrance.

Wahlman adds fatal crashes are trending higher in 2022 so far.

She explained they’ll have speakers and more during the event.

Families are invited to bring items representing their lost loved one to help create a temporary memorial to symbolize the lives lost on North Dakota roads annually. Concrete Daisiez is also donating flowers to the memorial. Items will be returned immediately at the conclusion of the event.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at https://visionzero.nd.gov/events/WDR/RSVP/.
