JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #2 University of Jamestown women’s volleyball won its 10th consecutive match on Saturday night at Newman Arena as the Jimmies swept Dordt to open up the conference tournament. Set scores were 25-21, 25-19, and 25-20.

UJ trailed 10-5 in the first and second sets but battled back in each of the first two sets to jump ahead 2-0. The Jimmies scored the final six points of set two and then began set three with a 7-0 run against the Defenders. #23 Dordt, who is on the fringe of making the national tournament, couldn’t stop the Jimmie train and lost its seventh straight match.

Kalli Hegerle led UJ with 10 kills, 10 digs, and 17 assists in the victory. The fifth-year senior was the only Jimmie to reach double-digit kills. Paige Oswald had a match-high 23 assists and Ellie Holen’s 28 digs were also a match-high. The Jamestown blockers limited Dordt to a .023 attack percentage for the match.

Anna Holen recorded nine kills and Logan Sherman had seven kills and five block assists for UJ. Jamestown hit .165 for the match and Megan Moser had two of the four service aces.

The Jimmies, now 29-2 overall, host #9 Dakota Wesleyan in the GPAC semifinals on Wednesday night. The Tigers defeated Northwestern in five sets to move past the quarterfinal round.
