VALLEY CITY, ND  (NewsDakota.com)  Again, the Hi-Liners were in the thick ofthe match, and again, the corner was to narrow to turn.

Valley City erased leads in the all three sets, led late in the third, but were ultimately swept by Grand Forks Red River 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) Tuesday night in Valley City.

Hannah Litzinger powered the Riders back in a third set that they led by five in, then fell behind by three, ending the night with three kills and a block that erased a 19-16 Rider deficit and led to a 25-21 third-set win.  She finished with 15 kills.

Addy Kvilvang registered five blocks and five kills to lead the Hi-Liners offensively.  The block, when present, led to the best moments of the night for Valley City, as they tied the first set late after trailing by five, challenged the second set two within two late after trailing by seven, and took a late third-set lead after trailing by five.

A big night digging up Rider attacks led to Jada Nelson winning Ivy Real Estate Player of the Game honors.

The Hi-Liners remain with three points in Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC) play, and finish their regular season at Devils Lake Tuesday.
