JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – For more than two years, Central Valley Health District (CVHD) has been administering COVID-19 testing publicly.

By the end of 2022, they’ll be ending these public tests at the Jamestown Civic Center.

Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says they began providing the tests in June 2020 with a drive-thru event at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds. She says they administered nearly 500 tests in 4 hours.

Due to funding and testing so readily available to the public, Iszler says this led her department to phase out the community testing.

Free test kits are and still will be available at Central Valley Health District and all pharmacies in Jamestown. Those needing official results for travel can contact their local healthcare provider or find other testing options online.

Iszler added businesses who have been sending employees to get tested should also be looking at different options as well.

Central Valley Health also thanked the community, local providers, ND National Guard, State Health Department, and especially the City of Jamestown, and the Civic Center staff for their support and cooperation as they worked through the last 2 years of the pandemic.
