VALLEY CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)  With the playoffs lurking, the Hi-Liner football team faces Fargo South tonight in a pivotal regular-season finale that will determine a definitive picture of the playoffs.

Valley City holds the top ranking in the state’s QRF playoff formula.  South is third in that ranking.   A Hi-Liner win would cement their home-field status through the playoffs.

A loss for the Hi-Liners makes the picture unclear.  With Jamestown, currently fourth in QRF, defeating Fargo North, currently fifth, last night, the Hi-Liners have likely clinched one home playoff game.  However, with Valley City’s loss last week to Grand Forks Central, a loss by the Hi-Liners tonight could send them out of a second home playoff game.
