MEDINA, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The #7 Oakes Tornadoes swept the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan Thunder in straight sets on Wednesday. This was their final game of the regular season. The set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 25-15.

The match started with the Thunder jumping out to an early lead however the Tornadoes fought back quickly and, after 3 lead changes, were ahead 9-8. They would hold and expand that lead as the set went on. They were take the set 25-14.

Set two was a lot tighter to start. The teams would trade the lead 4 times early on in the set before Oakes would take the lead for good at 12-11. They would hold the lead all the way till the end at 25-18.

Set three saw the Tornadoes kick it into high gear. The Tornadoes jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They took the set and the match 25-15.

During the game Brynn Dethlefsen, the Tornadoes’ libero, was able to pick up her 1000th career digs.

Ann Muggli was named the Bank North Player of the Game with 8 Kills and 9 blocks (4 solo and 5 assisted).

The Tornadoes now await the District Standings to be confirmed and brackets to be released. We will have those posted as soon as they are availible.
