JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As the biting cold of fall and ultimately winter starts to settle in, the Jamestown Parks & Recreation Department is using this time to prepare their indoor recreation opportunities for the community.

Executive Director Amy Walters says they’re conducting maintenance in their parks and public spaces. She added their team has been busy winterizing their outdoor spaces, but have also worked on upgrades as well.

Parks & Recreation will also flood an area of Meidinger Park for ice, but there won’t be any surrounding pallets for skaters.

Walters says their winter sports building has also been utilized by the University of Jamestown men’s and women’s hockey teams, but members of the public are encouraged to watch for open skate dates and times.

She says skate rentals are also available.
