SIOUX CITY, Iowa (jimmiepride.com)– The University of Jamestown women’s basketball team was picked seventh to finish in the GPAC as the 2022-23 Coaches’ Preseason Poll was released Thursday.
The Jimmies totaled 61 points in the poll, 11 points ahead of Hastings (Neb.) and 18 points behind Briar Cliff (Iowa).
Morningside (Iowa) earned 10 of the 12 first-place votes and was first with 119 points. Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) (99 points, 1 first-place vote) and Dordt (Iowa) (98 points, 1 first-place vote) rounded out the top three. Points were awarded on an 11-1 basis and coaches could not vote for their own team.
Jamestown went 18-13 overall last season, including 11-11 in the GPAC. The Jimmies will open the season at home on October 27 against Mayville State (N.D.)
