COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (NDSA) – Eight seedstock producers representing five breeds of cattle were showcased during the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association’s (NDSA) All Breeds Cattle Tour October 3. The tour celebrated its 35th year and featured an impressive group of Cooperstown, N.D.,-area beef producers and welcomed about 150 attendees over the duration of the tour.

“The breeders take pride in their cattle and were very excited to welcome tour guests to view their operations,” said Tour Chairman Kelly Hanson of Hannaford, N.D.

The day commenced with registration at the AmericInn Hotel in Valley City, N.D. From there, the tour departed for visits to Olson Hereford Ranch, Argusville, N.D.; Elliott Livestock, Clifford, N.D., with guest Tri E Simmentals, also of Clifford; Ressler Angus Ranch, Cooperstown, N.D.; Ressler Land and Cattle, also of Cooperstown; Twedt Red Angus, McHenry, N.D.; and Haugen Cattle Company, Hannaford, N.D., with guest Triple H Simmentals, also of Hannaford. To cap of the night, a banquet supper was served at the Hannaford Mercantile in Hannaford. NDSA President Jason Leiseth, an Arnegard, N.D. producer, shared an association update, highlighting policies passed at the recent NDSA Annual Convention & Trade Show, the organization’s Building Campaign and the Hope After Haley Disaster Relief Fund, which provided a quarter-million dollars in aid to producers impacted in the severe April storms.

“This year’s tour featured excellent sets of cattle,” said Leiseth. “With gracious hosts, fantastic company and top-notch seedstock to view, a great time was had by all.”

The All Breeds Cattle Tour is a project of the NDSA Seedstock Council. Planning for next year’s tour will begin in Spring 2023.
