SIOUX CITY, IA. (jimmiepride.com) – For the second straight week and fourth time this season, Ellie Holen (JR/LaMoure, N.D.) from the University of Jamestown volleyball team has been named GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender of the Week.

Holen averaged 7.22 digs per set as the second-ranked Jimmies split a pair of matches last week. She totaled a career-best 38 digs in UJ’s win over No. 6 Concordia (Neb.), then added 27 more in a five-set loss to No. 3 Midland (Neb.) Holen also had 10 assists and three aces on the week.

Through games of October 10, Holen ranks seventh in the NAIA in digs per set (6.1) and is 15th in total digs with 427.

Jamestown (19-2) hosts Valley City State (N.D.) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning to GPAC action Friday at Briar Cliff (Iowa) and Saturday at College of Saint Mary.
