Oakes, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The #7 Oakes Tornadoes continued their winning ways on Thursday when they swept the Richland Colts in straight sets at home. The set scores were 25-9, 25-20, and 25-16.
The match was close at the start with team teams trading points and the lead up to 8-8. However the Tornadoes would then go on a 17-1 run to take the set 25-9.
Set two started out well for the Tornadoes when they jumped out to an early 5-0 lead. The Colts would fight back and through out the set remain within 2-3 points. Oakes would keep the lead and take the set in the end by a score of 25-20.
Oakes would keep up the momentum in set three. They would jump out to an early lead and not look back. They would take the set 25-16.
The Bank North Player of the Game was Laikyn Roney. She would finish the night with 4 aces, 7 kills, and led the team in digs with 16.
