BILLINGS, Mont. (jimmiepride.com) — The University of Jamestown men’s golf team finished third out of eight teams at the Yellow Jacket Fall Invite, which wrapped up Tuesday at Lake Hills Golf Course.
YELLOW JACKET FALL INVITE FINAL RESULTS
The Jimmies shot a team score of 299 to finish with a 54-hole total of 886 (289-298-299). Montana State-Billings was first with 860 (285-281-294) and South Dakota School of Mines was second with 874 (295-294-285).
Jackson Worner (SR/West Fargo, N.D.) was the top placer for UJ, finishing fifth at 2-over 218 (71-75-72). Logan Douglas (FR/Stanley, England) was 14th at 7-over 223 (71-77-75), Gehrig Geiss (SO/Glen Ullin, N.D.) tied for 15th at 10-over 224 (76-76-72), Benjamin Schaeffer tied for 25th at 13-over 229 (75-74-80), and Max Noffsinger (SO/Ft. Collins, Colo.) was 27th at 14-over 230 (72-73-85).
Adam Nedens (SR/Billings, Mont.) tied for 12th at 6-over 222 (73-73-76) and Carter Wells (SR/Huron, S.D.) was 35th at 29-over 245 (86-77-82) playing as individuals.
“I was really proud of our guys this week,” UJ head coach Zach Hale said. “Shooting three rounds under 300 as a team is something the program hasn’t done in a while. It was nice to see Adam put together three great days as this is his home course. Jackson continues to be consistently solid for us and it was nice to see Gehrig and Logan step up too. We’re looking forward to closing out the fall season on a good note.”
The Jimmies finish the fall season at the University of Sioux Falls Invite in Larchwood, Iowa, next Monday and Tuesday.
