COOPERSTOWN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The #7 Oakes Tornadoes took down the Griggs-Midkota Titans in straight sets on Tuesday night in District 5 Volleyball action. The set scores were 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.

The Tornadoes came quick out of the gate in set one however the Titan’s were able to keep up with them throughout. The Titans would come back from a 14-7 deficit to take a 18-16 lead in that first set. Oakes would come back though and tie it at 21-21. They would then take the set 25-22.

Set two saw Oakes jump out to a 7-0 lead. That lead would quickly evaporate as Griggs-Midkota would come back to 7-6. However the Tornadoes would go on a 14-6 run to take a 21-12 lead. They would take the set 25-18.

The Tornadoes would keep the momentum up in set three taking a 5-1 lead early. They would keep pouring it on throughout the set. They would win the set and the match by a score of 25-13.

The Bank North Player of the Game was named Lily Thorpe who had 5 kills, 9 assists, 3 assisted blocks, and 9 digs.
