Bonnie Wieck, age 72, of Valley City, died Monday, October 3rd at her residence surrounded by her loving family under Hospice of Red River Valley Care. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 8th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the church. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City. Bonnie Olson, the daughter of Henry and Violet (Bruhn) Olson, was born on August 9, 1950. She grew up in Marion, ND graduated in 1968 from Marion High School. On February 22, 1969 in a blizzard she married “her guy”, Gary Wieck, in Valley City. Together they built a life in Valley City, including raising 3 wonderful children: Cooper, Stacey, and Casey. Bonnie grew up on a farm in Marion where she enjoyed many farm activities. She found joy in playing in the bell choir, singing, traveling, planting flowers every spring, and time with family. She was the pillar of the family by filling many roles as a wonderful wife, mom, grandma (grams), and sister.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Gary, three children, Cooper Wieck, Stacey (Matt) Nathan, and Casey Wieck (Emilee Barnes), 7 grandchildren, John, Alexis (Tyler), Brittany, Garrett, Mattilyn, Carlee, and Chloee, a brother, Allen (Fern) Olson, and many more family members and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Violet Olson, and her brother, David Gene Olson.
