JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The #3 Jamestown High School volleyball team extended its win streak to seven consecutive matches on Tuesday night with a straight-set victory over #4 Legacy. Set scores were 25-17, 25-23, and 25-20.
Jamestown picked up a set one win off the backs of Kinley Anderson and Haylie Hakanson as the junior and senior combined for nine kills in the opening set. Legacy was focused on Bernadette Newman in the first set, but Newman came alive for sets two and three to total a game-high 16 kills. The Jays were forced into a seventh set point to pick up a set two victory before cruising late in set three.
Hakanson finished with the second most kills on the night for Jamestown with nine. Anderson tallied seven kills for the Jays and Makenna Nold had eight. Nold also racked up 25 assists to lead the way for Jamestown.
At the service line, the Blue Jays picked up four aces and had 10 errors on the night. Bre Oettle had two aces and Aspyn Peterson and Newman each had one. Peterson anchored down the back line once again for Jamestown, she currently leads the West Region in digs.
Jamestown improves to 18-2 overall and 10-2 in the WDA. Legacy drops to 14-6 on the year and 10-2 in the West, falling for the first time on the road this season.
