JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Soil Conservation District (SCSCD) has had a busy 2022 so far.

Dustin Krueger is the watershed coordinator for the SCSCD and says they’ve started getting more involved in the city of Jamestown. One of these projects included the Hansen Arts Park.

He says they also planted some grass near the buffalo across from the city water plant. They’re also working with the State Hospital on a project near the Centennial Tree Park.

Krueger says they’re hoping to get more involved in urban conservation and continue to attend workshops. He says education events are also becoming a focal point for the district.

He added that since the 1940s, they’ve provided tree planting service. Windbreaks have also been a focus of theirs.

The update was provided to the Stutsman County Commission as a promise by the SCSCD to keep information available after they requested more mills in the past.
