Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The battle of the Cardinals went Carrington’s way with a 3-1 (19-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-22) victory over Ellendale. Ellendale started the night off on the right foot, controlling the first set for the 25-19 victory. Carrington came back and cruised in sets 2 and 3 before the much more contested 4th set win at 25-22.
Carrington was paced by Haley Wolsky (13 kills–match high) and Emma Hone (12 kills and 3 stuff blocks).Edyn Hoornaert (7 kills) and Madison Johnson (6 kills) added to the Carrington offense. Kennedy Wendel added 3 stuff blocks and a match high 4 service aces that tied Ellendale’s Ariel Hagen’s 4 service aces. Hagen also led Ellendale with 12 kills. Mackenzie Thorpe and Kaylin Slivoskey added 7 kills for Ellendale. Christen Walker had a match high 4 stuff blocks and added 4 kills. Ellendale dropped to 9-5 overall and 1-3 in District 5 play and Carrington improved to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in District 5 play.
