JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Looysen I Care has provided Mason Walters with professional eye care services since 2015.

Now, in an exclusive “NIL” agreement, Walters will promote the services of Looysen I Care to children and families throughout central North Dakota.

“I know from experience that the dedicated team at Looysen I Care provides each patient with personal one-on-one attention. And I think I’m a pretty good judge of what teamwork means,” said Walters, the two-time All-American basketball star at the University of Jamestown. “I will do my best to showcase their professional eye care products and services.”

“We are honored to be affiliated with Mason Walters,” said Steve Looysen, the owner and CEO of Looysen I Care. He is an outstanding young man who shares our values and who embodies what we represent. His exclusive endorsement of our firm in the eyecare health industry means a great deal to us.”

“Name, Image and Likeness” or “NIL Agreements” are the result of a recent Supreme Court decision which allows student-athletes to endorse and promote businesses and charities they personally support.

The agreement between Looysen I Care and Walters was facilitated by The Knight Club, the new non-profit “NIL Collective” that has been formed to assist student-athletes at the University of Jamestown with marketing their name, image and likeness rights.

Luke Heck, an attorney, UJ alumnus and board member of The Knight Club, said all legal expenses involved with structuring the agreement are being provided pro bono by the organization. “We want student-athletes to keep 100% of the compensation they receive under NIL agreements,” said Heck.
