MARSHALL, Minn. (Jimmiepride.com) — The University of Jamestown women’s golf team finished play at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invite Sunday, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at the par 72, 5969-yard Marshall Golf Club.
Jamestown was the only NAIA school in the 12-team field, which consisted of NCAA Division II and III schools. The Jimmies finished 12th in the team race with a two-round score of 141-over par 717 (360-357). Augustana (S.D.) was first at 40-over par 616 (310-306).
Haley Malone (SR/Moorhead, Minn.) was the top finisher for UJ, tying for 61st at 33-over 177 (89-88), followed by Kyra Vogel (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) who tied for 64th at 35-over 179 (90-89). Teagan Fee (SR/Havre, Mont.) tied for 69th at 36-over 180 (89-91), Faith Justesen (JR/Hawley, Minn.) tied for 72nd at 38-over 182 (93-89), and Coley Olson (JR/Cook, Minn.) was 74th at 39-over 183 (92-91).
“Another frustrating day for our squad,” said Jimmie head coach Zach Hale. “We will chalk this up as a learning and growing experience and look forward to redeeming ourselves in a couple of weeks when we head to Grand Falls to close out the fall.”
Jamestown finishes the fall schedule at the University of Sioux Falls Invite at The Falls GC at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa, October 10-11.
