TOWER CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Maple Valley School is embarking on a new building project.

“We are moving forward to build a new Pre-K classroom for our growing Pre-K program, a community fitness center as well as a new gym,” Superintendent Pat Windish stated. “5 years ago, Maple Valley brought 3 buildings that housed K-3, 4-6 and 7-12 under one roof. The goal was to build a gym in the future. Well, the future is now.”

The school voted June 27nd to move forward with construction of a new gymnasium.

The goal has been set to raise $1 million dollars to go along with money currently set aside in the districts building authority to make the building a reality. The plan also includes no added taxes, with all funds raised covering expense.

“At the present time, our fundraising has generated approximately $375,000,” Windish reported.

The new building will adjoin east of the commons area and entrance. The project will include a larger class room for the growing Pre-K program, a gym with capacity for two practice courts, locker rooms and a community-accessible weight room.

“Public response has been very positive and excitement is growing among students, faculty, and community,” the school states.
