OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Derek Toepke was sworn in as a new Police Officer for the City of Oakes at the September city council meeting.

Toepke has worked as a deputy sheriff for Sargent county and as a police officer for the City of Minot before leaving to work at Bobcat for the past 6 years.

“Derek decided his heart was still in law enforcement and he had a passion to join this department,” the Oakes Police Department shared. “He will be an asset for this department and is motivated to make a positive impact on this community. We are excited to add Derek to our department.”
